Temporary diversion: Expressway

In order to maintain cycle access during development works, we have had to make amendments to a section of the current Clyde and Loch Lomond Cycleway in the Castlebank area of Glasgow.  A short section of the previous route has been closed, and a diversion put in place.

This particular diversion was chosen following consultation with both Glasgow City Council and Sustrans.  As well as allowing us to minimise short-term disruption, this route is considered the most direct and comfortable of the options available.  The diversion is finished to extremely high quality standards, and will be in place until the road works are completed, which is anticipated to be late 2007.

Cyclists will be directed along Beith Street, down Anderson Street and along Castlebank Street, which has been identified as the most direct route appropriate.

Once the road works are completed, the permanent routes will be instated. These will provide a high-quality environment and vastly improved pedestrian and cyclist access across the Expressway as well as along the Glasgow Harbour waterfront.

We apologise for any inconvenience this temporary diversion may cause you.
